About Us

Together, Mark and Kathy Shangraw create fine artistic portraits that portray the beauty and spirit of the people they document. Mark’s photojournalism background adds a unique story-telling style to his work. As a portrait artist, Mark is also an active member of the Professional Photographers of America. He earned his PPA certification status, a designation held by fewer than 3% of imaging professionals worldwide.

Kathy and Mark are both members of PPANI, the Northern Illinois chapter of professional photographers. Through participation in these national and regional associations, Mark and Kathy have collaborated with and studied under today’s most gifted photographers, craftsman and industry leaders.
